ٱلْإِنْفِطَار

Al-Infitar

(Bursting Apart)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful

Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 1

إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتْ

When the sky breaks apart.
Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 2

وَإِذَا ٱلْكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتْ

When the planets are scattered.
Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 3

وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ

When the oceans are exploded.
Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 4

وَإِذَا ٱلْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ

When the tombs are strewn around.
Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 5

عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌۭ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ

Each soul will know what it has advanced, and what it has deferred.
Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 6

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلْكَرِيمِ

O man! What deluded you concerning your Lord, the Most Generous?
Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 7

ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ

He Who created you, and formed you, and proportioned you?
Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 8

فِىٓ أَىِّ صُورَةٍۢ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ

In whatever shape He willed, He assembled you.
Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 9

كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ

But you reject the religion.
Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 10

وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَـٰفِظِينَ

Though over you are watchers.
Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 11

كِرَامًۭا كَـٰتِبِينَ

Honest recorders.
Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 12

يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ

They know everything you do.
Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 13

إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍۢ

The virtuous will be in bliss.
Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 14

وَإِنَّ ٱلْفُجَّارَ لَفِى جَحِيمٍۢ

While the wicked will be in Hell.
Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 15

يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ

They will enter it on the Day of Justice.
Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 16

وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ

And they will not be absent from it.
Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 17

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ

But what will convey to you what the Day of Justice is?
Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 18

ثُمَّ مَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ

Then again, what will convey to you what the Day of Justice is?
Surah 82 - Al-Infitar - 19

يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌۭ لِّنَفْسٍۢ شَيْـًۭٔا ۖ وَٱلْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلَّهِ

The Day when no soul will avail another soul anything; and the decision on that Day is God’s.
Summarized notes on Surah Al-Infitar

When the Last Day comes, every soul will be answerable. What deceived you about your God - the One who created you and blessed you? Don't deny the Doom. The pious will be in bliss, and the wicked will be in Hell. On that Day, no soul can support one another. God will have absolute command on that Day.
